Four Most Fun Free Things To Do In Kansas City With Toddlers

Ernie Miller Park and Nature Center

7900 Renner Road

Shawnee Mission, KS 66219

This has got to be one of the top picks for those outdoorsy families. Start with the 116-acre nature park that spans multiple ecosystems to explore. Take hikes and adventures on the over three miles of trails through prairies and forests. But be sure not to miss the stream! This preserve also homes tons of native wildlife and history.

To beat the summertime heat, stop by the Nature Center! There you can explore interactive exhibits and learn about the natural habitats of the area. But one of the highlights of this trip remains the 500-gallon fish tank. This holds many native fish alongside a wildlife viewing area filled with bird baths and water features. Whether indoors or out, Ernie Miller Park offers a great free thing to do in Kansas City with your toddlers!

Kaleidoscope

2500 Grand Blvd

Kansas City, MO 64108

Kaleidoscope is a free, unique experience in Kansas City that toddlers will love. This art-making space is free for kids ages 14 and under and their caregivers. Located in the bustling Crown Center, Kaleidoscope is Hallmark’s gift to kids and families in the area.

Families can enjoy a 50-minute studio session where toddlers can choose their own creative adventures. Kids use Hallmark materials (paper, stickers, ribbon, and more), Crayola supplies (crayons, markers, and paint), and their own imagination to create a variety of amazing art projects. Each child is given a bag so they can take all their projects home at the end of their session.
