Happy 2022, friends!
I write this today with an already 5 week old baby boy! It is always so hard in the beginning, but it goes by oh so fast. I’m doing the best I can to savor every moment of this special, yet crazy (life with a threenager), time. I wanted to post a few photos before he changed too much.
Here are the CliffsNotes of Connor’s birth story:
Since I had a scheduled c-section with our daughter, Cora (doc thought she would be over 10lbs), I had one scheduled for baby boy as well (he was also measuring quite large;)). My c-section was scheduled for 12/8, at 39 weeks. The morning of 12/4 I woke up around 6:30am to what I shortly thereafter determined was my water breaking. (Fun fact: only 15% of women actually have their water break!)
I had never experienced anything labor-like in my previous pregnancy. At my last [38 week] appointment I was not dilated at all, so I had no idea what to expect. We called the on-call doc and she said to come in to the hospital get checked out, but that we should most likely plan to stay. Since I wasn’t having any contractions, I knew that didn’t need to race in. So, I took a shower and blow dried my hair for what I knew would be the last time in a while. My in-laws were able to come at a phone call’s notice to take care of Cora (and THIS is why we moved back home :)). And in a matter of 2 hours we were prepped and ready for baby boy to be delivered. At 9:34am on Wednesday December 4, Constantine “Connor” Gregory Jianas was born, coming in at 8lbs 15 oz and 21.24″ long.
While my beautiful family is now complete, the journey to get here was anything but easy, and I know many others out there have experienced the hardships of fertility. Stay tuned for more on my journey to motherhood. In the meantime, enjoy a few photos below from the last 5 weeks with Connor!

I miss Atlanta, especially all of the people, like crazy, but this is home and I am so grateful to be around family and longtime friends again. I found a new doctor and we were set to have another scheduled c-section on 12/15 at 39 weeks since little guy was measuring not so little, like his sister.
