What to Wear to Your Spring or Summer Session

The big dilemma…what to wear to your upcoming session. It can be daunting to decide what to wear, let alone curate a wardrobe for your entire family. You are not alone, friend. I am here to help! Here are some general wardrobe tips (for all seasons):

1. Go for timeless with neutral – Neutral colors tend to always photograph well. Not only do these colors reflect natural light on your skin, but they make for a light and happy photo. Grays, tans, whites, light blues and pinks always look great.
2. Pops of color and patterns are ok – but keep it to maybe 1 (or 2 if your family is 4+) of your family members.
3. Dress yourself (mom) first – Pick out something that will make you feel beautiful and then coordinate your family around your outfit.
4. Be comfortable – At the end of the day, wear something that you feel good about yourself and feel comfortable in. Wear something that you will want to see when you look at your photos for years to come.

I have also put together several Pinterest boards for you to help give you ideas of what would photograph well. I have one other board specifically geared towards motherhood with more beautiful dresses.

I love taking the advice of bloggers and stylists. Loverly Grey has some great ideas for spring summer sessions on her blog. Merelise Wilson is a personal stylist who can help curate a wardrobe for your upcoming session and can also create a shoppable board so that you can purchase items directly.
